  • How do we attach meaning to the images we use online?

We are a research group at the University of Turin and with your help we can better understand how faces are used online.

This is why we would like to invite you to participate in our FRESCO research project, which aims to collect and analyse profile images using artificial intelligence.

By participating in the project you will receive a unique image processed by DeepDream, a neural network that creates surreal and dreamlike images. Imagine seeing yourself through the eyes of an artificial intelligence – it’s an experience not to be missed!

Not only will you receive an exclusive image, but your participation will help scientific research to discover the ways in which we use our faces in online communication.

To participate, simply follow the link and send in your profile photo.

Get involved!

  1. Let’s start from this link where you can register by creating an account or using your Facebook profile
  2. Once registered, you will be asked for informed consent and to verify your email address
  3. This is where the fun begins! We’ll ask you some very simple questions and share any profile pictures you want
  4. That is all! Now all that’s left to do is download your profile picture processed by DeepDream
